Watch Cancun Mexico From a Helicopter (VIDEO)

The hotel zone in Cancun Mexico is amazing. This is a great view of the whole strip where all the high end hotels are. You can find a great all inclusive deal to stay at most of the hotels on the strip. As you know, Cancun Mexico is hurting right now because tourism is down due to all the violence that has been reported from the drug cartels. Know this though, the Hotel strip, or the Zona Hotelera is the safest place to be in Mexico. It is highly secure and they don't mess around. If you are planning a vacation soon I suggest this Mexican paradise. You can also take a trip to Isla Mujeres (Island of the Women) or to Playa del Carmen, that is on the Mayan Riviera. They also have some great hot spots to stay at, and the night life is amazing. Playa Del Carmen is very cheap so there may be more crime there then on the Cancun Mexico Hotel Zone.

Be Careful Buying Silver Jewelry From Mexico

You have to be very careful when buying silver jewelry from Mexico. I have put together this simple guide on how to buy jewelry in Mexico because I have been ripped off before. No one wants to get ripped off and it can be a real bummer when you are on a limited budget. I have seen many fake silver products being sold in Mexico. Yes even counterfeit coins I have seen people selling in hopes of snagging a collector that would love to pay top dollar. With jewelry a trick they like to do is use fake stamps, so that you think its a famous designer or jeweler. I have seen fake stamps of all silver jewelers including “Tiffany and Co.” You really don't want to buy something that obviously is too good to be true. Follow your instincts. I have put together a list of things that I think you should do before purchasing anything from anybody. That way you can be sure the shops you shop at are honest people. Like I said, no one likes to be ripped off. That being said Mexico does have great bargains on REAL silver you just have to know what to look for, and not fall for the same old scams. Here are some good things to remember...

  1. If you can try to visit Taxco, Mexico. This is where most of their legit silver originates from because it is where it is made. They have really nice pieces that are hand made, and super artistic. You will love the selection of this place, because they make it right there at the same place. Silver is everywhere there. This doesn't mean however you can not get scammed. Scammers are everywhere too.
  2. Make sure there are no scratches or scrapes on the silver itself. Good quality silver shouldn't have any imperfections like that. You also have to check if both pairs of earrings match. Sometimes when retailers buy in bulk, they mix up the set with another pair, and you have a bad situation on your hands. Make sure everything matches up and looks nice.
  3. Always take note of the weight of the jewelry. Silver from Mexico usually comes in 2 different ways. Make sure you check for a stamp that says .925 or .950. The .925 silver is obviously used for the lower quality jewelry, but just use that in your price negotiation. Don't be afraid to talk them down. They are used to this in Mexico and it is common practice. When it comes to fine stones they usually appear more on the .950 silver since they make the jewelry go up in value.
  4. Make sure you use your gut feeling when buying from somewhere you aren't familiar with. Nine times out of ten your feeling is correct. A lot of these merchants and retailers have perfected the art of pressuring people into just settling and buying at their store. Remember, there are plenty of places to choose from when it comes to buying silver jewelry in Mexico. You don't have to feel rushed into making a quick decision. Always browse around and get a feel for the market. If they are pressuring too much just walk away, or say no thank you, and move on.
  5. Look around at all the stores before you decide the one you wish to buy from. Don't feel overwhelmed by people pulling you into their stores and offering you deals. That is part of the fun when it comes to shopping for jewelry in Mexico. Remember, you won't get ripped off if you make an informed decision. Have fun!

I hope this helps you shop for jewelry in Mexico. Don't fall for the same old tricks that merchants have been using for decades. Instead just make an educated decision and make sure to have fun. Please leave comments if you think I have left anything out.

Tips on Getting Married in Cancun

There are plenty of options when it comes to having a wedding in Cancun. The last thing you want to do though is ruin it all because you didn't bring all the necessary documents to make the wedding happen. The documents you need are: valid passports, original birth certificates, and Mexican Tourist Cards. If you make sure you have them though, there are many options to have a beautiful wedding that makes it official in your country as well. I will help you make the day more enjoyable, and stress free so that you can be sure you have the perfect wedding in Cancun.

Wedding Options in Cancun
There are plenty of churches and chapels to choose from in Cancun to get married in. Some are even associated with the hotels to make it easier on you as a guest. Take not that the catholic churches in Cancun encourage only "same-religion" marriages. This is unfortunate but true. Some of the Cancun hotels offer really nice tailer made packages for wedding ceremonies and receptions. They really are quite nice and this is definitely the best way to go. Your wedding will be something you will never forget, and this makes it fun for the whole family, and all of your friends. If you wanted too there is also the option of having your wedding directly on the beach. Many couples prefer this option, and it also makes your wedding very enjoyable. You can choose what hour is best, but just let me suggest getting married while viewing the sunset. That is the most unforgettable moment in all of the day. Especially when you are watching the calming of the waves.

Cancun Vacation Activities and Fun
Cancun as you probably already know offers a wide variety of water activities to choose from. You can go scuba diving, snorkeling, walk on the bottom of the ocean (sea walk), go jet skiing, and you can even sign up for boat tours to the islands of the area. The flora and fauna are amazing to witness, and it is unforgettable. The nightlife and club scene on the hotel strip are some of the most amazing clubs in Mexico, and if you are planning to check out one together, let me recommend Coco Bongo. That is a great place to take your new bride, and you can watch the Vegas-style shows that are totally unforgettable and fun for everyone.

I hope you have a great wedding in Cancun, and be smart, and stay in a group. This will be the most unforgettable wedding ever! Congratulations in advanced!

Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Cancun Mexico

The Ritz Carlton is one of the best hotels in the world no matter where you go. The Cancun location is nothing less. I love spending my vacation when going to Cancun at this hotel. Many famous politicians and other movie stars have chosen this hotel too when traveling to Cancun Mexico. They have over 350 rooms available, and its not the cheapest place, but it is the most diverse in services and options. They offer massage techniques in your room that are from all around the world. You pick your favorite and they are sure to perform it on you. Including strange pre-Columbian massages that are more like rituals than massages, but are indeed relaxing. This hotel also does great nail care and facials for the special woman in your life. They will love it. You do not have to get the massages or treatments in your room either. There is an option to have it done an an open air terrace overlooking the beach, this is simply divine! Looking for a good sauna? Look no further the Ritz-Carlton has the best in Cancun! This hotel is all about luxury, and if it can be done, it most definitely will be. They even offer private 8 person hot tubs for you to enjoy. They also have the greatest fitness center known to man, with free weights, plus cardio and weight machines. You can work out in style or maybe meet someone new! You don't even have to leave the grounds. They have a great bar, and they have some of the best scotch that is very hard to find anywhere else in Mexico. I give this place my highest rating because of its overall awesomeness. Please if you want to stay in Cancun with style, be sure to check this place out. Here is some contact information so that you may call them yourself for reservation information, or any other questions you may have...
